Christy Lotz, B.Sc., M.Sc., CPE

Christy Lotz, Managing Consultant and Ergonomics Engineer for Humantech, oversees large-scale ergonomics initiatives in the manufacturing and health care industries, and helps organizations build internal ergonomic expertise. Christy works closely with companies to understand their needs and develop a process that will allow them to integrate human factors into production operations. Christy has worked extensively with Toyota on the development and delivery of North American Ergonomics Training. Her industry experience ranges from pharmaceutical to heavy-vehicle manufacturing. Clients include Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Caterpillar, Genie Industries, Eli Lilly, and Bemis.

As a university student, Christy spent time as an ergonomics and biomechanics Research and Teaching Assistant at Queen’s University, overseeing labs, analyzing data, and speaking as a guest lecturer on the topics of ergonomics and biomechanics. She was involved in designing and analyzing a personal lift-assist device to be worn by workers performing manual material handling tasks. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and her work has been published in the Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology.

Christy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a Master of Science degree in Ergonomics and Biomechanics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Christy has achieved recognition as a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE).
